Orphan Cry Fall Outreach to Russia
The Orphan Cry Fall Outreach to Russia was a big success. The team consisted of four Americans with the help of six Russian nationals. The team visited six different children's centers. During our trip we donated 3 Nintendo Wiis to 3 of the orphanages we visited. The kids has so much fun with these!!! It was an opportunity for them to virtually experience games like bowling and tennis - games which they might otherwise never have the opportunity to experience. But, it was more than just fun - the Wiis offer a degree of therapeutic value by helping to improve hand/eye coordination, balance, and other therapies that these children need. The team also had the opportunity to see first hand some of the improvements that Orphan Cry helped to underwrite in the orphanages, such as new windows, a hot water heater, restroom renovations, and donations of clothing, towels, and personal hygiene items. However, the most exciting aspect of our trip was the privilege of seeing 168 children respond in prayer to Gospel presentations in three of the six sites visited. We have developed some very close relationships with the directors and staff of the centers we support and it is always a blessing to spend time with them and build on our relationships and joint efforts to improve the lives of the children that live there.

A Sign of Great Things to Come:
Orphan Cry International Ministries recently held an Open House at our new facility in Johnson City, New York. The event was well attended by friends, family, volunteers and supporters. There were plenty of delicious snacks and treats. Participants were able to tour the new facility and learn more about our operations. The new site was dedicated by Dr. David H. Wood. Displays of artifacts from both Russia and Liberia were on display. There was also a large screen continuous slide show of photos from mission trips to Russia and Liberia.
Our new "Operations Center" is a blessing from God and will be a great help in making us more effective and efficient in our growing world-wide ministry.
We would like to thank each one that worked so hard to make this event possible and a great success!

Delivering Hope
While a crew of Orphan Cry volunteers were busy sprucing up the new Orphan Cry Operations Center both inside and out - another group was busy preparing "Care-Paks" for Russian orphanages. The crew prepared over 30 parcels which contained children's clothing, shoes, school supplies and a gift for each orphanage director. The orphanage directors have expressed their gratitude many times for this important aspect of our ministry. The Care-Pak preparation time has also become a great service and fellowship opportunity for those who live in close proximity to our headquarters.
We send Care-Paks to various orphanages on a regular basis with the help of our many volunteers. We are always in need of funds to cover the costs of shipping. You can help us with this cost by making a tax deductible contribution. Click here to make a donation now.

Lighting the Way!
During our last visit to the Christ our Hope Orphanage in Liberia, we met Joseph. Joseph is a dedicated teacher of Adult Literacy at Abide in the Vine Fellowship - the church that founded Christ our Hope Orphanage. The adult literacy school is another of the many outreach programs of Abide in the Vine Fellowship to their community. Classes are held right in the church. The problem Joseph was having is that there is no electricity in this area- so classes could not be held during the evening when most adults are available. The students were eager to learn, but many could not come during working time. Thanks to two area Rotary Clubs partnering with Orphan Cry, They know have a generator, lights, and fan to conduct evening classes. Below is a photo of the grateful class members and their teacher. Vityaz Russian Summer Camp
Orphan Cry Missionary, Igor, is seen here with some of the children at the "Vityaz" summer camp in Russia. Igor was appointed Assistant Director of the state run summer camp this year! It was an honor for Igor to have this trust and confidence placed in him and in Orphan Cry Ministries. In the photos you will see the children with their new T-shirts. On the top of the shirt is the camp name in Russian (Vityaz). On the bottom is "Orphan Cry - 2009". The image is the camp logo. The T-shirts were awarded as prizes for the children who demonstrated excellence in their studies and activities during camp. Is is a joy to see the big smiles on the faces of both the children and our own Mr. Igor, Asst Director!!!
